A senior official of Tripura’s commerce and industry department said the Union Commerce Ministry had recently informed the Tripura government about the initiative taken to boost bilateral trade in the interest of the northeastern states.

The official hoped the two-day foreign secretary-level meeting between the two countries to resume in New Delhi on Thursday would also discuss trade barriers and transit facility for the sake of development in the region.

The business community expresses hope that the dialogue would end with positives decisions.
