Bosom pals do City proud
TWO CHILDHOOD friends ? Rachit Gupta and Vaibhav Bahl ? have done the City proud. Rachit topped the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination in Navy and secured eighth position in Army for the 1166th course commencing from July this year. Vaibhav has secured 39th rank for Air Force in the same examination. Last year also a City boy Bijoyendra Gangopadhyay had topped in the NDA examination.

Rachit topped the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination in Navy and secured eighth position in Army for the 1166th course commencing from July this year. Vaibhav has secured 39th rank for Air Force in the same examination. Last year also a City boy Bijoyendra Gangopadhyay had topped in the NDA examination.

The NDA examination was held in August 2005 by the Service Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence. Rachit and Vaibhav have studied in St Xavier School together since KG 1. Both joined the KK Academy where under the guidance of Brigadier M L Khanna and Anwar Khan they prepared for the NDA examination.
CBSE X: Pallavi State topper
PALLAVI AWASTHI, a student of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Mandir, Vijaipur (district Guna), seems to be the State topper for the CBSE class X exams of 2006, as per information available as yet.
Pallavi has scored 97 per cent marks (485/500) and has scored 100 marks in science. Pallavi is the daughter of Rajkumar and Rekha Awasthi. She has scored 93 marks in English, 98 in Sanskrit, 98 marks in Mathematics and 96 in social sciences.
The performance of the school has also been very good with 100 per cent results and four students scoring above 90 per cent marks.
