Bridget Jones is back

Bridget Jones is back - Renee Zellweger has signed on to appear in a third film about the hapless diary-keeper. The first two films of the series did extremely well.

The first film in 2001 grossed $282 million (£188 million) worldwide, while the 2004 sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, raked in $262 million (£175 million).

And bosses at British studio Working Title have decided it is time for Zellweger to return to the role of the beloved Brit to round out the trilogy.

It is thought the new film will concentrate on Jones' quest to have a baby in her 40s.

Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are expected to return, according to reports.
