Brisk preparations on for BJP's three-day meet in Nagpur

Brisk preparations are underway for the three-day mega event of BJP national council meeting to be held in city from February 6 to 8.

Top leaders of the party, including BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani, party president Rajnath Singh and others would be arriving in Nagpur for the meeting.

Six chief ministers of BJP-ruled states-Narendra Modi (Gujarat) Shivraj Singh Chouhan, (MP), B S Yeddyurappa (Karnataka), Prem Kumar Dhumal (HP), B S Khanduri (Uttarkhand) and Raman Singh (Chhattisgarh) along with 220 ministers from various BJP-ruled governments, party whips, 166 MPs and 1,440 MLAs apart from functionaries in civic bodies and party district units' and state units' presidents would be participating in the meeting.

As many as nine top leaders, who are entitled for 'Z' plus security would be descending here for the convention.

The open convention will take place at the University's Subhedar playground while the party national executive council will meet at Rani Kothi in Civil Lines. A high tech media centre will cater to the needs of over 350 scribes including those from electronic media.

A number of celebrities including cricketers and film stars like Navjot Singh Siddhu, Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna, Smruti Irani are also likely to attend the meeting. An organising committee, headed by BJP stalwart and state unit president Nitin Gadkari are giving finishing touches to the prepatations.
