British actress Liz Hurley, famous in India for being the girlfriend of businessman Arun Nayar, plans to act in a Bollywood movie, media reported on Sunday.

Liz, 38, will star alongside veteran Om Puri in the as-yet-untitled film, The Sunday Mirror said.

Most recently, Om Puri played chip-shop owner and dictatorial father George Khan in the award-winning film East Is East.

According to the report, now Liz is hoping Om Puri's success will rub off on her.

She only has one real hit among her film credits, as Mike Myers' assistant in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery six years ago.

Since then, she has had a series of flops, including 'Bedazzled' where she played the Devil.

Liz and Om Puri will start filming the movie - a thriller made by ambitious production company iDreams - in Scotland in the New Year.

Liz is not the first beauty iDreams have enlisted. The company have aligned model Sophie Dahl for another movie.

Sophie, the blonde ex-love of rock star Mick Jagger, was teamed up with the 'Bombay Dreams' musical's writer Meera Syal for 'King Of Bollywood.'

The movie, which is to be released next year, was filmed around London's Canary Wharf earlier this year.
