She had the media buzzing about what she would reveal at her press conference, but Britney Spears left the media disappointed after cancelling the much-awaited event.

The Princess of pop had invited selected media representatives, journalists and record industry executives to the Los Angeles Convention Centre recently.

According to Contactmusic, though Spears had not revealed why she was calling the press conference, speculation was high that the 24-year-old would officially announce that she and hubby Kevin Federline were expecting their second child.

There has been no word from the Spears camp about why the conference was scrapped, or whether it will be rescheduled and take place at a later date.
