"We are verifying whether the bird was sent over for spying on Indian territory or accidentally flew in here. The instrument is also being examined," DIG BSF B R Meghwal said.

According to official sources, few hawks trained for espionage purpose and fitted with antenna and other equipment have been caught in the past too.
