Rukesh Lamba, 19, had apparently fallen off the fifth floor of the university hostel at 3.30am.
She was the daughter of Satyendra Lamba, a resident of Chinalaya village in Mahendragarh, Haryana.
According to university officials, Lamba, who stayed at the hostel, was advised to stay with her family outside the campus in view of her health problems.
The family members admitted that Lamba was suffering from depression, but also lashed out at the university authorities for their “dictatorial attitude in not allowing her brother to see her last night”.
The body has been handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
“We have received the report, which confirms that the death occurred due to falling from a height,” Bhupani Satvir Singh, SHO, said, adding, “We are investigating all angles of the case.”
