THE BARKATULLAH University (BU) today defeated Udaipur University and entered the quarterfinals of the South West Zone Inter-University Basketball Championship being organised at Maj Dhayanchand Ground.

The hosts BU were all prepared to prove their talent in the match. Studded with players like N Prasanna, Priyanka Bhateley, Poonam Singh and Vitita Singh, the BU dominated over Udaipur in the entire match. The hosts, through their attacking strategy, shocked the visitors. Consecutive attacks compelled Udaipur to surrender within just ten minutes of the game.

Brilliant coordination between Priyanka Bhateley and N Prasanna secured a lead of 25 points by the time the match was halfway through.

Though Nandu Gahlot of Udaipur collected some points, lack of proper support from her teammates led to the team’s defeat.
Priyanka and Prasanna scored 21 and 16 points respectively. The BU won the match 52-15. “Our objective was to take lead in the first two quarters. The strategy worked and we won the match”, said BU coach Upendra Singh Tomar.
