Budget session to commence on Feb 23

The 3-month long session of Parliament will commence on Feb 23 and the general budget would be presented by Finance Minister Chidambaram on Feb 28.

Lalu Prasad will present the rail budget on February 26 which will be followed by tabling of the Economic Survey the next day.

The first phase of the session will continue till March 21, Parliamentary Affairs Minister PR Dasmunsi told reporters here.

There will be a recess between March 22 and April 17. The session to resume on April 18 and will continue till May 22, he said.

The government's recommendation has been sent to President APJ Abdul Kalam, he said.
