Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati’s support for a state of Bundelkhand has stirred up regional sentiments in the area. Bundelkhand straddles parts of UP and Madhya Pradesh. Whipping up Bundela pride, regional satraps of Bundelkhand have floated around 12 outfits to take up the cause of a separate state. The national president of Bundelkhand Mukti Morcha, Raja Bundela (in pic), will start the agitation for a state by organising a march from Chitrakoot (267 km west of Lucknow) to Khajuraho (380 km north-east of Bhopal) on December 16.
