The official sources said the government had granted three per cent DA to the employees in its budget. Now it intended to give them three per cent DA more as the Central government has announced grant of three per cent DA to its employees.

The Cabinet, chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, would meet at Mantralaya at 9 am. The Cabinet is likely to approve raising of amount from Rs 8 to Rs 20 per head for meals to the patients in the government hospitals. The government had already announced raising of the amount. As with the meager amount of Rs 8 the requirement of 3600 calories to the patient could not be met.
The other issues to be discussed at the meet include exemption from tax under VAT on certain articles, industries to be given certain incentives, process of implementation of development schemes carried out with people’s participation, guarantee to HDFC Bank for its loan to the Housing Board, proposals from certain societies wanting land for setting up their IT firms etc.
