According to the norms candidates for the municipal elections have to present the NOC at the time of filing of nomination papers, which is scheduled to start from October 3. The NOC verifies that the candidate has cleared all his dues relating to the house tax. Special cells have been constituted for each zone by the KMC to facilitate the process of issuing NOC to candidates from Friday.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) City Abrar Ahmad has also issued orders to KMC authorities to prepare a route map for the processions of candidates. The ADM city has also given orders for the strict compliance of the route map and other norms laid down for the candidates.

Following the orders of ADM (City) KMC authorities have earmarked ward-wise rooms for filing of nominations. A list of the rooms would be released on Friday and a copy of it would also be placed on the KMC’s notice board. Ward numbers would also be duly painted outside the rooms for the convenience of candidates.

The ADM City has already carried out an inspection of the KMC and issued necessary directives to officials of the civic body associated with the election process. The ADM has also issued instructions relating to barricading of all roads leading to the KMC. To prevent the entry of unwarranted elements in the KMC campus barricading of roads on all the three entry points of KMC would be done.
Additional Municipal Commissioner (II) Uday Narain Tewari has been made incharge of the control room opened to regulate the election process.
