When you get an invitation for a Hyundai Getz tennis championship party, then you expect either tennis players or people from the industry. But the Wednesday night do organised at the Djinns at the Hyatt Regency was totally different. The guest list was too long to find complete mention here but surprisingly notable amongst the guests were people from the fashion world.

Scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m., the party was buzzing within an hour of the specified time and continued to do so well past mid night. Aditi Govitrikar Lakdawala who is in Delhi for the L’Oreal show said the party was nice because she got to meet so many people. “Frankly I didn’t know Madhu Sapre would be here. Besides, the party has a nice relaxed feel too.”

Madhu Sapre, who continues to dazzle many was little conscious that she wasn’t in the best of shape (wonder who was?) but she definitely called the shots when it came to clicking her picture. “ Take it from a little above. It will suit my face more,” she said.

Former model Anjhula Singh Bais, who is now doing her masters in psychology, gave a more serious note to the party. “Why would you like to be a model? What sort of satisfaction will you get? Even otherwise, it’s always better to have a backup option. What if your latest film or video flops? But, modeling has also helped me in psychology. I have met so many people.”

Shantanu Mehra of the Nikhil Shantanu duo, who had teemed up with Sameer Sharma in the tennis competition to claim the trophy, said he had won the trophy second time in a row. “I like the tournament because it’s a corporate tournament. You meet people from all walks of life and some of them are really great tennis players too.”

Model Shivani Sabiki, who until recently was living in Singapore found the party interesting but missed the live bands that play in Singaporean parties.
