In this day and age when lounges rule and discos are passé, this is one spacious nightclub - created out of a space that earlier housed the Ashok laundry and post-office - that is cast in the old mould. You're not likely to find the smart set here, though it's famous for serving drinks till the wee hours. It's got everything wrong - standard drinks, bad music (although you have three deejays playing three genres of music in three inter-connected, sound-proof rooms), rude bouncers and inedible food - yet there's never a dull moment here. Sniffy party animals attribute this turnout to Capitol's reputation as being the last resort of all those who couldn't get into the other nightspots.

Note: There's a redeemable cover charge before 10 p.m. at Capitol. Wednesdays: Rs 500 per head; Fridays and Saturdays: Rs 1,000 per head.
