Car rally reaches town

A JOINT car rally, comprising Indian and Myanmar officers and soldiers, reached Garrison Ground here on Wednesday. The rally was organised to pay homage to the martyrs of the Second World War. Senior army officials accorded a warm welcome to the participants of the rally. It was flagged off from Delhi on December 5 and will again be flagged off from the city on December 7 by Brigadier AK Seth.

Senior army officials accorded a warm welcome to the participants of the rally. It was flagged off from Delhi on December 5 and will again be flagged off from the city on December 7 by Brigadier AK Seth.

The rally would cover a distance of 3,925 kilometers and end at Yangon on December 15.

There are 14 teams taking part in the rally from both the countries, including 45 contestants, comprising 21 Indian officers, 12 Myanmar officers and 12 Indian Army coordinating staff.

The rally was lead by Colonel AR Chaterjee (India) and Lieutenant Colonel Sean Than (Myanmar). After reaching Yangon, the rally would again come back to Delhi on December 29.
