In an attempt to provide a platform to youngsters, to not only understand and rediscover their hidden potential, but also learn social skills and the finer points of life, the Government of India during the year 2004 announced a host of educational policies and plans, raised education funds, while simultaneously providing huge grants for computer-aided learning in schools. With a view to safeguard and protect the rights of children, the Government also planned to set up a National Commission for Children and a Bill for the same to be introduced in the Budget Session of Parliament.
