However, principal returned the cell phones to three of the students whose guardians had personally come to request for the return of the cell phones to their respective daughters.

However, two students could not get back their mobile sets, as their parents failed to come in support of their daughters.

According to Princi Kapoor, a MA student of DG College, “Cell phone should be banned due to many wrongdoing occurring due to cell phone by creating MMS and other things. And after all it is a place of study it does not require the use of cell phones.”

Deepti Rajani, a BA student of Kanpur Vidya Mandir said, “Students and the teachers have their genuine reasons for using and not using of cell phones. Therefore, the students should keep their phones on vibrating mode so that they do not disturb the class and the decorum of the college.”

According to Ruchika Arora, a MA student of the Christ Church Degree College, “Total ban on the use of cell phones in the college premises is absolutely wrong, because we do have to keep in touch of the people concerning our career and job and there are students from outside the city also. And when the government has provided us the right to vote at the age of 18 then why these college authorities keep a ban on use of cell phone, after all we are mature enough and very well know how to use a cell phone.”

Another M.Sc student of PPN College, Fauzia Shanam said, “Students should use cell phone only in case of any emergency and not always on the college campus breaking the rules and regulations of the college.”

According to principal DBS College, SK Mishra, “Cell phone has a use and misuse both, like vulgar MMS and other things. So while entering in the college premises they should deposit there cell phones, to check any trouble in the classrooms.

The guardians should also think before giving a cell phone to their children.

And I find no sense of using mobile in college.”

According to Neeta Shukla, a lecturer in DG College, “The use of cell phone should be only for emergency and not for gossiping with friends.”

Principal of the PPN College, Ashok Kumar said, “We have restricted the use of cell phones. And the students are cooperating with us too.

And if any problem do occur while implying upon this rule, the teachers should keep patience because with over reaction they could only mess up the whole situation.”
