A unit of paramilitary training centre would be set up near Panoor if the government came forward to acquire the
land, he said at a function to inaugurate a multi-industrial training centre near Tripangottur in the district.

A township would come up in the locality as part of the training centre, he added.

The Minister visited various localities in Vatakara Lok Sabha constituency from where he got elected and told
people to maintain peace in the area, which has witnessed recurring political clashes.
