Fiza, wife of former Haryana deputy chief minister Chand Mohammad, was on Friday arrested and then released for allegedly attempting to kill herself. She, however, said she had taken anti-depressants mistakenly and had no intention whatsoever of committing suicide. She also claimed there was no rift between her and her husband, who left her on Wednesday.

After getting discharge from the hospital on Friday, Fiza said her husband had not come back to home, so she was upset and mistakenly consumed the overdose of the drug. “I can never go for such a coward act,” she said.

On Wednesday, Fiza had created a stir by alleging that her husband was kidnapped.
