A week-long exhibition that began on April 24 achieved sales turnover of Rs 7 lakh in just five days. The exhibition has displayed a wide variety of ‘kosa’ collection — saris, dress materials and salwar suits. In addition, the customers have been offered handloom items produced by the weavers of Chhattisgarh and Bagh prints.

Organised by Handloom Directorate of Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh), the exhibition has also showcased eye-catching artifacts of bell-metal of Bastar, bronze items, bamboo items and several decorative pieces. Besides, day-to-day usable items in the form of bed-sheets, covers, towels, cotton suiting & shirting and designer items.

Assistant director, Handlooms (Rajnandgaon), MS Joshi said kosa has been the prime item of demand in the exhibition by the visitors. “We expect more response in the last two days,” he added. The exhibition timings are from 11 am to 10 pm everyday and would come to an end on April 30.
