The CID had filed an application before the Judicial Magistrate First Class II court, seeking permission to conduct a DNA test and a voice test.

Halappa, a former minister, is facing allegations of raping his friend's wife in November.

The victim Chandravathi had alleged that he had raped her at her house and later threatened her and her family.

The victim and her husband claimed they have video footage of the alleged incident.

Halappa, who was arrested on May nine, had however, denied all the allegations, claiming it was a political conspiracy.
