While the CITU’s State-vice president S K Ghosh put the effigy to fire, the district general secretary P N Verma stated the hanging of Saddam was a proof of America’s imperialistic dictatorship.

He said that by this act, America has been trying to show its power globally through muscle-flexing. Demanding the Indian government to register its protest against America’s capturing of Iraq and Saddam’s killing at international platform, Verma said it would strengthen the protest movement against America.

A large number of union members and citizens were present at Jinsi Chowraha during effigy-burning and demonstration.
