Cleric's family attacked, two children dead

Two minor children were murdered in a murderous attack at the family of local cleric in Batmallo city. According to reports, two un-identified assailants barged into the house of local cleric Mohammad Iftihkar Lone, early morning at about 5 am, who had gone to offer prayers.

According to reports, two un-identified assailants barged into the house of local cleric Mohammad Iftihkar Lone, early morning at about 5 am, who had gone to offer prayers. The assailants slit the throat of 3-yr-old Aliya Ifthikar and 2-yr-old Mohammad Hashim. Naseema (40-yr) the mother of children was also attacked.

According to the police the children were immediately rushed to the hospital where they were declared dead. Mother is also not responding to the treatment.

Cleric, a resident of Gurez, belongs to the Shia sect. Srinagar district has Sunni majority.
