DELHI CHIEF Minister Sheila Dixit ridiculed Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for misleading the masses by claiming credit for projects funded by the Union Government.

“All State Government projects, including the unemployment allowance, are being funded by the Centre,” Dixit said. Hitting out at the State Government, she said that it was the Congress that had initiated the Gramin Employment Guarantee Scheme. “The party had, in its election manifesto, promised that it would provide the youths with proper employment. The project is being successfully run all over the country,” Dixit added.

Replying to a query about the party’s present position in the State, she said that the forthcoming would change the landscape of UP politics. She held the State Government responsible for UP’s slow progress and said in the coming election issues related to power crisis and farmers’ problems would hold centre-stage. “Caste and religion will take a backseat,” she added.
On the possibility of any pre-poll alliance with other parties in the State, she said any such decision would be taken at an appropriate time. Talking about the proposed rally, she urged the Congress workers to make the rally a grand success.
She said, “Future of the party depends a lot on this rally and the Congressmen must leave nothing to chance for its success.” Regarding the performance of the State Government on the law and order front, Dixit said, “It depends upon the people that what type of government they want in the State.”
She further said that it was necessary to go for a change of government in the larger interest of State, Dixit added.
