CM to inaugurate slew of projects on Jan 23

CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav will arrive here on January 23 with a bunch of development projects for the city. He will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 82 development projects for the district during his three-hour stay.

CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav will arrive here on January 23 with a bunch of development projects for the city.

He will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 82 development projects for the district during his three-hour stay.

The projects involve investment of Rs 1.20 billion.

The CM will address a public meeting at Narmal School ground in a minority dominated area.

The district administration has sent details of these projects to the State Government for approval. District magistrate Dr Hariom said inauguration of the much-awaited planetarium and Dharmshala overbridge could also be included in the programme of the chief minister at the last moment.

The CM will arrive here at 10.25 am on January 23 and drive straight to the BRD Medical College, where he will lay the foundation stone of Japanese Encephalitis Research Centre. He will also lay the foundation stone of two epidemic wards having capacity of hundred beds.

Sources said the CM would announce a programme to fulfil norms set by Medical Council of India (MCI) to save the recognition of only medical college in the region which caters to the medical needs of around six crore people. He will address a public meeting at Narmal School ground where he will lay the foundation stones of various development works. He will inaugurate a 440 KVA power sub-station in Motiram Adda and another one at Durgabari.

The district administration is busy giving final touches to preparations for the proposed visit of the chief minister, who will also distribute cheques to beneficiaries of Kanya Vidya Dhan .

Meanwhile, party leaders organised a meeting at the district party office. State minister Jaiprakash Yadav and district unit president Chandrabali Yadav directed party workers to highlight achievements of the SP Government,
