CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav will inaugurate the year-long centenary celebration of the Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology on January 2.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, Vice- Chancellor of the university, MM Aggarwal informed, “CM will dedicate a capsule by releasing it into earth. The outer portion of the capsule weighing 10 kg has been painted by the golden and silver colours. Capsule costing Rs 25000 would be tied by a chain 50 feet long.”
On the occasion, an agriculture exhibition has also been organised by the university.
Various departments of the university would display their achievements in the exhibition, he said.
Aggarwal further informed that alumni of the university would also be felicitated and a memento and a robe would be given to them.
The CM would also release a centenary literature during the inaugural session of the function.
Informing about the projects undertaken by the university, V-C said, “At present 24 all India coordinated projects, 29 research non-plan schemes are being run by the university in its various departments.”
The technologies developed by the university had already been transferred to the farmers. They had contributed significantly in enhancing the agriculture production of the state, V-C said.
He said that more than 150 varieties of high-yielding crops have been developed by the university, which are widely popular not only in the State but also in other states.
