THE CHIEF Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said here today that the law enacted on total ban on the slaughter of bovine animals would be strictly implemented in the state.

MLA Archana Chitnis, along with a delegation of citizens and office-bearers from Burhanpur, offered a floral welcome and greeted the Chief Minister. This was in celebration of the Supreme Court’s complete dismissal of petitions filed by butchers of the state against total ban on slaughter of cows and oxen as it would affect their livelihood. The plan for total ban had been initiated by Madhya Pradesh Gauvansh Vadh Pratishedh Adhiniyam 2004.
