Prime Minister Manmohan Singh admitted on Wednesday that he faced the pressures of heading a multi-party coalition.

"Of course the coalition does impose constraints. In some areas we cannot move as fast as we would like to," the Prime Minister told a press conference in New Delhi. "It does impose constraints."

He added: "But coalitions are a reality. We have to recognise the reality of our time. One has to think of efficient functioning of a coalition."
