Cold conditions intensify in Punjab and Haryana

Cold conditions today intensified in Punjab and Haryana with mercury dipping by upto three notches below normal. Amritsar remained the coldest place in the region with a minimum temperature of 3 deg C, down by one degree, MeT office said here.

Amritsar remained the coldest place in the region with a minimum temperature of 3 deg C, down by one degree, MeT office said here.

Chandigarh shivered at 5.1 deg C, down by two notches below normal.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 4.3 deg C, while Hisar was at 4.2 deg C.

Karnal and Bhiwani recorded identical lows at 6.2 deg C. Narnaul and Rohtak had a minimum of 3.4 deg C and 6 deg C respectively, dipping by up to three notches.

Ludhiana and Patiala recorded minimum temperature of 3.9 deg C and 5.5 deg C, down by 3 and 2 degrees respectively.

Fog and mist would continue to prevail at a few places in two states.
