Talking to PTI, Patnaik claimed that Congress was poised to emerge as the single largest party in the state, although no party was in a position to win the magic figure of 74 in the 147-member house.

Asked as to how the congress would form the government as it did not have pre-poll allaince with any of the parties, the former chief minister indicated that his party could get support from Independents and others.

The ruling BJD spokesman Damodar Rout, on other hand claimed that his party would certainly emerge as the single largest party with absolute majority.
