The agitated Congress workers were raising slogans against the State Government and power department for failure to ensure proper power supply.

District Youth Congress Committee president Dr. Dayashanker Mishra alias `Dayalu’ assailed the state government and power department and said that apart from declared power cuts, there was undeclared power rostering which had made the life of the citizens miserable, right at the outset of the summer.

Mishra said that even though the UP Board examinations were over, the home examinations of various schools had started here in Varanasi and undeclared power cuts were disturbing the studies of the students who were facing a lot of difficulty.

Mishra demanded that the authorities of the power department change the old and dilapidated electricity supply wires in Nati Imali, Dhoopchandi, Nai Basti and Teliabagh areas to ensure better electricity supply. in these areas. Paramhans Singh, Prabhat Singh, Ashwini Shukla, Arun Mishra, Rajesh Tripathi and Amitabh Dixit were among others who addressed the gathering.
