“The Congress has made tall claims of eradicating poverty. But it doesn’t have the vision, leaders, policy and will to bring an end to the problem,” Modi said.

“Did the Union government give you jobs? Did the Congress keep its promises?” Modi asked at the rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

The BJP PM nominee said countries such as the US and China spend a lot on skill upgradation, which help the youth get jobs.

The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre did not spend much on skill upgradation, he added.

Madhya Pradesh has 16.2 million voters in the 18-29 age group.

“BJP wants to empower the youth by creating jobs,” Modi said.

He praised MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for launching many welfare schemes for the poor.
