Cong wants Sonia to be Prime Minister: Khursheed

Salman Khursheed said Sonia Gandhi had "fought" and had been "vindicated" and therefore she should'nt opt out of the prime ministerial post.
Senior Congress leader Salman Khursheed on Tuesday said party workers and leaders wanted their President Sonia Gandhi to become the Prime Minister and were making all efforts to persuade her not to opt out.

"It is not acceptable to us.." if she opts out it will "crush sentiments" of Congress workers, he told reporters here adding that Congress leaders were making efforts to persuade her.

Khursheed said Gandhi had "fought" and had been "vindicated".
Lashing out at BJP for its anti-Sonia tirade, he questioned the "silence" of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee over the issue.
"He is the head of the party. It is his duty to control his group," Khursheed said.
