Congman escapes unhurt in Andhra Maoist attack

A Congress MLA escaped unhurt in an attack by Maoists near Kakarla in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

A Congress MLA escaped unhurt in an attack by Maoists near Kakarla in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

The Maoists attacked the car of U Srinivas Reddy near Kakarla in Arthavedi mandal with bombs, preliminary information quoting police sources said.

Reddy, who represents Cumbum assembly constituency, was returning after visiting the Velugonda irrigation project when the ultras attacked with bombs.

Reddy, however, escaped unhurt in the attack, police said.
