Congmen stage ?Jail Bharo? stir

HUNDREDS OF Congressmen today took part in the ‘Jail Bharo’ agitation to highlight the failure of the BJP Government in fulfilling its poll promises at the State level, and at the local level the failure of the BJP-ruled IMC to provide basic civic amenities.
The Congress leaders also included the issue of violence in the just concluded student’s elections, where a professor lost his life in Ujjain, in their agitation. The Congressmen were arrested and released soon after.
The first agitation was held at Tori Corner where City Congress president Pramod Tandon, senior Congress leader Mahesh Joshi, Sajjan Singh Verma, Ujagar Singh, Kripa Shankar Shukla, Ramlal Yadav, Tulsi Silawat, K K Mishra, Lalit Jain, Pankaj
Sanghvi and Devendra Singh Yadav among others were present. All Congressmen lambasted the State Government and also the BJP-ruled IMC. The workers shouted slogans with gusto and were arrested. The site where the Congressmen had gathered was converted into a jail and they were arrested. Here the agitation was lead by Ramlal Yadav.
Later, the senior leaders, including City president Pramod Tandon went from one agitation site to the other to encourage the party workers.
This was followed by agitation at Malwa Mill crossing where Shiv Kumar Uramria, K K Mishra, Ajay Rathore, Vipin Khujneri and Rajesh Chokse among others courted arrest. Here, the agitation was led by Ajay Rathore.
At Palasia crossing, the agitation was lead by State Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza. Among others Raghu Parmar and Vinay Bakliwal were present along with the Congress workers at the agitation.
Later in the afternoon, Congress MLA Ashwin Joshi staged dharna at the Krishnapura Chhatri and Mhow Naka and Lalit Jain staged dharna and courted arrest.
The main Congress agitation was divided into five Assembly segments, though some of the front organisations also held their own agitation, like the Jhuggi Jhopri Cell members who staged dharna at Regal crossing.
