The shooters from Gopalganj district of Bihar were monitoring the movement of the BSP MP and were camping in Sant Kabir Nagar district but the police got the information through electronic surveillance and enhanced the security of the MP.

Sources said that as soon as the police officials received the information, they passed on the message to the top officials of the State government and contacted the BSP MP, directing him to change the route of his journey. This ultimately foiled the assassins’ plan.

According to police officials, the criminals were planning to assassinate the MP after the sensational killing of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai.

According to sources, a group of criminals is active from Gopalganj of Bihar to Gorakhpur.

Earlier, under the guidance of SSP BB Bakshi, electronic surveillance wing has played a crucial role in saving the life of an MLA and several other elected representatives.

Sources said that the criminals had the information regarding the souring relationship between Bahujan Samaj Party MP and his party chief.
