Continuous rain for the past 36 hours, signalling advent of monsoon in Bihar, has created a flood like situation in many areas of the state capital.

According to the Met department sources about 22 cm rainfall has been reported in Patna in the past 36 hours while it was 25 cm in the Buddhist pilgrim town of Gaya.
Patna Meterological department director TN Jha told PTI on Thursday that Bihar witnessed such heavy amount of rainfall after 20 years.
Many low-lying areas of the capital, including Kankarbagh, Lohanipur and Mithapur were flooded.
District administration was working overtime to clear the waterlogging in different localities in which life had been thrown out of gear.
