A BURGLAR who broke into a house in Nishatpura and robbed the family of ornaments was later overpowered by the couple. The husband, however, was injured in the process.

According to information, a burglar entered the house of Badlu Pasi, 50, a resident of Qainchi Chhola at around 3 am. Seeing the burglar, the couple woke up. The burglar who wielded a knife relieved Badlu’s wife of her ‘mangal sutra’ and rings. As the couple protested, the burglar attacked Badlu repeatedly and injured him. The couple still resisted and Badlu’s wife hit the robber with a rod on the head.

Hearing the commotion, neighbours woke up. When the burglar tried to flee, he was caught. The locals handed over the accused to police.

Nishatpura police have arrested the accused, Anwar alias Raju, a resident of Chhola, for voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery. He has been arrested in the past also. The police are interrogating him.
