The couple, whose identity was not disclosed by the officials, had arrived in the city on June 18 and test reports of the required samples confirmed they were infected with the (A)H1N1 virus, a health department official said today.

They had been admitted to the Government Communicable Diseases Hospital here.

All the people who had arrived here along with the couple would be monitored for any symptoms of the disease, the official added.

With this the total number of positive cases of swine flu in Tamil Nadu has risen to four. A 34 year-old woman and her five year-old son, who had come from United State to Coimbatore on May 28, had tested positive for the H1N1 virus. After 12 days of treatment, they were discharged on June 9.
