"The judgment is a victory for all those people across the globe who have faith in Lord Rama… The judgment should not be seen in context with any religion," Das told reporters after the high court ruled in favour of a temple.

The verdict should not be "associated with victory or defeat of a particular religion", he said, adding, "I welcome the decision and believe everyone in the country would accept the judgment."

Asked whether he would make any appeal to the Supreme Court in connection with the case, Das replied: "As of now I cannot say anything about the matter… First I will consult my lawyers and will take an action accordingly."

"I just pray to the almighty that the judgment should not affect the brotherhood and unity among the members of the two communities."
