The Communist Party of India (Marxist) organised a district-level meeting at the party office in Mandi on Saturday and decided to neither support the Congress nor BJP nominee in the current elections.
Onkar Shad, senior leader of the party, who presided over the meeting said the party would contest all four seats in the Lok Sabha general elections next year.
Addressing party men, Shad said crores of rupees of the public had gone waste just because of Congress party stalwart Virbhadra Singh's ambition to become the state's chief minister for the sixth time instead of remaining MP and union minister at the Centre.
“To serve the common man should be the main aim of a politician and Virbhadra Singh should have respected mandate of people of Mandi parliamentary constituency who sent him to Lok Sabha to raise the issues of common welfare in 2009, but he forgot about the public verdict and decided to become the chief minister though it cost the state crores of rupees,” said Shad.
He said the chief minister could have served the state as the Mandi parliamentary constituency MP at the Centre till next year and saved public money, which otherwise could have been saved.
