. If you think decorating a

verandah

is a task, here are a few quick-fix options.

Convert to appeal
The traditional way of decorating the verandah includes ceramic and terracotta urns. Placing flowers and candles always work well.

“A beaded chandelier with candles can lend style to the verandah,” says Ruchi Malhotra, creative director, Silk Road and Beyond.

“Hanging tea-light holders and bells adds character and look stunning, especially when you soften the look of it with clever planting.”

“For a bigger area, a bench, garden table, chairs, colourful ottomans and lights make the verandah lively,” says CE Rai, owner, Zaza Home.

Small wonder
If the verandah space is small, the walls can be best used as a canvas by giving texture or colour to them. Adding wall hangings and mirrors, too, helps. Also, tall triangular urns can be filled with twigs and berries on fir branches that can survive through the season. “Lights in weatherproof wrought iron holders look nice,” says Rai.
