A review of how police officers were working and also simultaneously handling the situation will be made by him in due course of time. Efforts will be made to ensure that crime is not committed but if it takes place those incharge of the area reach the place of crime on time.
Though Meena already has some schemes up his sleeves but he refrained from revealing the same before mediapersons. He plans to come out with the same at the meeting of the COs and the SOs. The genesis of murders in majority of cases was dispute over land/property. He said, attempts will be made to deal with such disputes at the police station level on 'Thana Diwas'.
Admitting that a section of cops were hand in glove with criminals he said it was because of this that the government had ordered transfer of all those station officers who have overstayed the stipulated period in a district.
A review of the current situation will be made in March and anybody found still overstaying will be transferred.
Replying to a question as to whether he will order encounter of criminals here like he did during his posting in Bulandshahar, he said that any person who fired at the police will be paid back in the same coin.
On the issue of police-public relation he complained that members of the public avoided approaching the police he said all out efforts would be made to ensure that citizens were no more hesitant in approaching the police station.
He said that maintenance of a register would be ordered at all police stations and members of the public would be asked to sign the same whenever they went there. Police stations with lesser entries would be asked for explanation.
He promised to look into media complaints about many police officers who prefer to keep their mobiles switched off most of the time.
