Misuse of technology involved exposing young people to cyber crime. Internet use opens the door to unprecedented freedom being encouraged by their friends and classmates. Activities like online dating and chatting are commonly prevalent among the youth these days. Again, the increasing use of camera cell phones shows how new technology can bring out the best and the worst.

The infamous MMS episode has only confirmed that today's adolescent, exposed to an environment which is very permissible, is prone to aberrant behaviour. Students have used cell phones to cheat on tests and also covertly take pictures or video clips of partially dressed people in school locker rooms and health clubs. Some even use them to peek under women's clothing in grocery and department stores. As a result, some schools, health clubs and businesses have restricted and even banned their use.
