CRPF jawan commits suicide

A CRPF jawan on Wednesday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police officials said.

Pargat Singh, a jawan of 193 battalion of CRPF, shot himself from his service rifle at 0630 hours on Wednesday at ITI complex in Poonch town, they said.

Singh died on the spot, they said, adding the reason behind the suicide was not yet known.

Police has registered a case in this regard and investigations are on, they said.

Singh was a resident of Tikri village of Barnalla district in Punjab.
