Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has ordered internal inquiry into the involvement of its personnel, if any, in the fake encounter in Ganderbal. The spokesperson of the forces Manas Ranjan told the Hindustan Times that an officer of DIG's rank will hold the inquiry.

"There is no involvement of our men in these fake encounters. Our men were mainly for outer security, and they had no active participation in these encounters," he said, "but still we inquire into the matter".
