CSJMU academic session concludes

THE ACADEMIC session of the Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) for 2005-6 concluded here on Saturday. Almost at all the degree colleges, the teachers assembled after duty hours and held staff meetings to review the progress made in their service. They also chalked out plans for the next academic session. The biggest issue which was discussed at most of the college was about constituting admission committees and to learn the admission restrictions beforehand to avoid violation of the university policy.

At some colleges, the teachers expressed their resentment at the fixing of duty of the teachers and non-teaching staff during examinations. They alleged that the examination and the assistant examination superintendents did not consider the principle of equity in the duty allotment process. Consequently, some staff members were over burdened while others felt neglected. At other colleges, the teachers held the meeting of their association and made out some plans for the next session.

There were some colleges where teachers just assembled to have a cup of tea and exchange views on the last working day of the session . They were averse to discussing the problems or the future plans.

At some colleges, teachers simply signed the attendance register and walked out of the college premises saying, “See you on June 25.” However, for a section of teachers who have been engaged in invigilation duty for the private candidates’ examinations till May 17, the current session will end on the last day of the examination.
