Despite the improved situation, the district administration has decided not to relax curfew in Sasani Gate, Dehli Gate, Kotwali, Bannadevi and Gandhi Park areas.

An indefinite curfew was imposed in these areas following last Sunday's communal violence.

The administration, however, opened the traffic for a brief period on GT road under Banna Devi and Gandhi Parks police station areas, where adequate security arrangements were made by the administration.

Over 125 people had been rounded up in the town, some of them on the charge of violating ban order while others for indulging in anti-social behaviour, an official spokesman said.

Violence had erupted after local BJP leader and trader OP Gupta was shot dead by armed miscreants. While Bablu, one of the accused, was lynched by locals, Azimullah died of bullet wounds in a city hospital.
