The 'Navy war room leak' case, in which classified information of the Navy was allegedly sold for money, has jolted the armed forces out of its slumber over cyber crime. In its bid to plug similar leaks in the future and also to prevent hackers from getting into the army's computer network, the army has recently launched the 'army cyber security establishment' (ACSE).

The Corps of Signals developed the ACSE with some help from the Information and Technology ministry. It's headquartered at the Corps of Signal complex in Delhi and is headed by a major general rank officer in the technical training department.

The Establishment was one of the topics of discussion at the ongoing Army Commanders' Conference at the Defence Ministry.

Sources said the decision to set up the ACSE was taken after computer network audits were carried out at all major military stations.
